the fair!

So this year my brother, sister in law, and I entered something into the fair (it got us a fee entry yay).
I wanted to do a button theme canvas. I when to micheal's crafts store and got a frame very simple and stapled thick fabric to it and began sewing buttons to it. this is what came out.

I have never entered something to a fair so it was pretty awesome to see my canvas in a glass container. I felt like a kid when i saw that i got first place. The emotions just came though because a lot of people got first place. hahaha i guess the way that they judge isn't on everybody just on a couple people.
Well it was cool because my brothers picture got 1st and my sister in law got 1st on her cupcakes which is a no brainier THEIR THE BEST!

produce buttons

As you heard our garden is growing its last goods of the season and yesterday my mom picked our first corn that we have awaited all summer. We constantly repeat "save me some of that corn for later" off of nacho libre. My mother wants to can peaches which i have no clue how to but i am sure that there is a D.I.Y. on canning peaches. We hand picked apples at a farm near our house it was fun. There were a lot of spiders and they all had gross, long, creepy, legs, but its ok that was their home.

I was on the web searching for cool d.i.y projects and came across a button coaster. i had never thought about sewing buttons together. i don't have the patience to sew a lot of them together so i made them into jewelry. I am really happy how it turned out. i think i will make some more :)

oh and about that cat on the stove yea...we love cats my mom bought them and put it there for her to find it lol i thought it was funny.

Day off

Today was my day off and i had big dreams. Last night i made a pattern for undies cause (sshhh i need some) but when i started sewing they became not stretchy. So i went to Hastings and looked at sewing books while sort of made me feel better. i really would like to make my own buttons in the future. I had an idea of a zipper necklace but i think i might have to sleep on that in order to like it.

About a month ago i went down to visit my grandmother and found this cute shirt. she told me that she didn't because of the sleeves. i thought the pattern was very soft and springy (is that a word?) well i thought it would be look good with a belt and a goodwill sweater :) i think this is the only thing that made my day. tomorrow i have the whole morning to sew something.

New

This past Labor Day Weekend i went to Bumbershoot in Seattle WA. Bumbershoot is a 3 days full of concerts. I knew that i needed a new bag that would keep everything safe. This was my first time sewing a zipper, it was a little bit hard but it came out great. :) This bag went through an ocean of humans and toughed it out and did great. the weekend was great and i got to see all the bands i wanted. Seattle is so pretty. The best part of the whole weekend was that i got to meet Ruffeo Heart Lil Snotty. they were so rad(yes thats the word that i had to use). When i got home i was very happy to see the Mushu! (the cat) sorry the pictures a little bit messed up*
